Most of the grapple discussions I have read indicate a narrow grapple is as good and in some cases better than a wider one. My experience has been limited to the 60" RK5. In my opinion the RK5 would be well or better suited for a 50 . As much as I love the lower weight of the Wicked 55 since lid grapple, the Wicked Root grapple V2 with the double lids is quite nice.
