If anything in that circuit has any issues the machine won't start. The best way to do it is to get a new connector and jump the two pins for the seat switch. In this way, you can unplug the seat harness from the main harness, and then plug your jumper in. The problem with leaving it jumped all the time is that the EIC board will stay powered up, and will eventually drain the battery. I want to change out the seat on my 1992 L785 and there are no holes for the two seat switches in the new seat. My old seat base has big chunks of cushion missing and you can just pick the whole thing up off the metal frame and toss it like a frisbee.

Everytime you get in and out of the seat you have to toggle the switch. When I sit on the seat, the panel lights up so the seat switch is working. If it is that switch at the female side of the seat belt latch, then New Holland says you have to give them about 0 + for a complete new assembly. Or, you can remove the female side and split the case with a screwdriver to access the switch inside. It will sit down over 2 tabs.
