I have looked into after market coded keys for the CAT skid steer(297c). CAT offers one the name is Key kit security, part number 258-4185. It cost about 0 not including installation. The salesmen said his branch has never sold one or installed one.

I have experience with both a skid steer and a toolcat. The toolcat will meet your needs for everything, but it wont load the truck very well. You wont be able to pile the snow in the box like you could with a skid, if you must haul the snow a skid steer is . I've done mine a couple of times, its a pita. lift seat up, take center floor pan off. you'll see spring rods about 10" long down inside to the left and right side. removing them is the hardest part cuz of hard to reach cotter pins, i replaced them w/slip pins to make job easier in future, also lock boom in up position, remove side panels gives you better access. Selling a brand new Deere BL8 snow plow/light dozer blade. Has universal hookup for skidsteer and flat face couplers.
