We have a Case 430 and had parking brake problem, wouldn't release brake sometimes. The problem was the safety switch on the lap bar, bad switch, replaced switch brake release's like it should now. Reply (be sure to test the 10 amp fuse in the fuse block) also test the brake switch button on the left handle. another place to look is the safety interlock the seat switch, lap bar, and rops all have switches that have to be made. if all that is working you could have a piston seal leak that wont let the brake release build pressure. test the . I used to park outside and if the seat bar were left in the upright position and any frozen precip happened the p brake would freeze in park position. This is a question regarding preparing for a hypothetical, yet eventual situation. I know that someday I will need to move my C238 in a disabled condition. I'm trying to figure out if there is a mechanical method to release the parking brake system to tow this machine if it ever becomes disabled.
The SS still rolls if on a hill though, the brake doesn't see to be holding it. This SS has the spring activated brake attached to the drive motors. Hydraulic pressure releases the brakes. I disconnected the hydraulic line feeding the parking brakes to make sure there was zero pressure on both. The brakes should have engaged with no pressure. I have a 2002 Mustang 2070.
