Up to the 2054 size the Mustangs are still Mustang designed.Above this size they are almost identical to a Gehl except for the Boom(stronger and much higher lift ratings on the arms than a Gehl).Plus Cummins and Yanmar powered instead of Duetz in the Gehl.IMO the hand and foot control option on these is not set up properly.The stalks are WAY to far reward and make . I just bought a '00 Mustang 2040 with 1,600 hours on it. I am the third owner. The first owner was a rental company (need I say more), and the second owner was a private contractor. It came with all of the manuals and repair & service documentation. The engine always starts on the first click and sounds great. Gehl CTL60 = Mustang MTL15 = Takeuchi TL130 Gehl CTL70 = Mustang MTL20 = Takeuchi TL140 Gehl CTL80 = Mustang MTL25 = Takeuchi TL150 I sell the undercarriage parts for these machines as well as the rubber tracks and they are all interchangeable. They are a vertical lift machine first built by OMC and branded as Mustang. OMC built skidloaders for John Deere in the seventies. None of the ads listed a year so I couldn't tell how late they built them.
Mustang has been around since 1965, second skid steer mfg after Bobcat, I had a 1996 2040 very reliable machine really quiet ,now I have a 2109 so far very good lots of power cab is very spacious ,all in all I'm happy with Mustang .
