Besides, most mini excavator brands are pretty darn good so it mostly becomes a Ford, Chevy, Dodge kind of thing. Best advice would be to narrow your definition on what you plan to do with it, weigh how important the dealer relationship is to you and demo all of the brands you narrow it down to. I have a 150+ acre Pc of property and looking to purchase a used Mini excavator for just personal use on my land which I narrowed down to I think a 5 ton size with rubber tracks with a enclosed cab. With heat and A/c and thumb. hi sorry if I disturb, could kindly which in your opinion in the current market is the best mini excavator, the most practical manageable safe, such as the weight, the measures and the ideal power to do a bit of all the work both in the construction sector and in the agricultural sector landscaping and forestry. thanks sorry for the unusual .
I'm starting to look around for a 6 ton (ish) mini/mid size excavator. There seems to be a lot of 5 and 5.5 ton machine from the different manufacturers, however, once you get to the 6 to 6.5 ton mark, the choices seem to be pretty limited. I currently run a JD50C, which has been a pretty good machine. It's a bit slow, but very reliable. I was thinking Hitachi originally but after reading this forum there appears to be a disproportionate number of problems with them. But I have an old mini excavator at present on a smaller property (Hitachi Mu33) which has given me good service. But I want to sell this to get a bigger machine with steel tracks. However, I would certainly appreciate some "best practices" advice from the actual professionals - written up with enough explanation for newbies and rookies to understand. Questions: 1.) Can a large excavator (like a Cat 320 or 326) break out full buckets of hard dry clay? My experience is with excavators is strictly in the mini sizes.
