If you have a new F150 with the 5.0 eco boost it will tow 12,000 lbs. Like a bunch here already noted biggest issue will be breaking. definitely have duel trailer breaks. I am trying to figure out if I can tow a skid steer 700 miles with my 2012 FX2, SCREW, V8. I have the tow package but don't know what the limit is or if it's going to be very hard on the truck? The GVWR is 7100. I need to tow a Case 40XT skid steer with my 2004 Expedition with the 5.4L. The skid steer weighs in at about 4,600lbs with a 18ft tilting equipment trailer. The trailer is a 10,000lb capacity trailer with two 6,000lb axles, and surge brakes on each wheel. ya be sure to keep the weight balanced over the axil as much as possible. but depending on the trailer you may have to back it on or pull it on depending on which way you can get it on the trailer to get it to ballance best.
