The tracks will certainly tear into the side walls at times. Ideally, running airless tires would be the best solution if your going to have them on for any length of time. That of course will at 3k or more to the cost of running them, but I agree that especially in slippery conditions like hilly, snow covered areas. I recently put OTT tracks on and think for general ranch type work a wheeled machine with OTT's is the best of both worlds. I will admit a track machine would be nice but the cost of operating one is not worth it to me. I can take the tracks on or off in about 30 minutes. I really on need them when its wet out. I been looking for a skid steer for a while now, and just cannot seem to find a decent one for a fair price and also starting to think maybe a skid steer isn't the best tool for working on hills as well the hills I have are uneven ground, and about 15% slope(at the bottom is a 10+ ft almost vertical drop, retaining wall!
