Hi, looking at a 2002 John Deere 260 skidsteer this weekend and wanted to get some opinions and thoughts. It is a well used 2 speed machine with almost 6000 hours, but the owner claims no leaks (which I will verify in person), the two drive motors, aux pump and lots of seals have been replaced along with new pins and bushings in the bucket. So we finally sold our Komatsu SK820-5n skid, which by the way was a great machine with good specs, and bought a JD 318D with 205 hours on it. It was purchased new by a small town near us to snowblow sidewalks and the occasional summer pothole repair.
We have this skidsteer in our rental fleet, It's just out of warranty and has less than 500hrs. The problem; Customer was leveling ground and the park brake locked on it's own, The unit nor the bucket will move. luckly the bucket was off the ground enough I was able to jump the solinoid along side the hydro filter and get it backed up on the trailer and back to the shop.
